Meet The Owner!

Hey! I'm Katie, the founder of Storybook Events.

I wanted to start an entertainment company to bring joy to Waterloo Region and beyond! Prior to starting Storybook Events, I worked as a character entertainer. Being an actress with experience in the arts and entertainment industry, I wanted to find a way to do what I love and bring smiles to faces at the same time.

At Storybook Events we make imagination a reality. My goal with this company is to bring magic into the lives of every child we have the honour of meeting. As an avid fairytale lover myself, I know just how special these interactions can be for kids and adults alike!

Please keep us in mind for any and all of your entertainment and fairytale needs. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to contact me personally and I'd be happy to help grant your wish — just call me your fairy godmother of parties!

Abbi

Abbi, UW Theatre & Performance graduate, specializes in theatre for social justice with a passion for youth theatre and is also currently pursuing a career in Social Work. She loves working with kids since their imaginations are huge and uninhibited! Her goal is to bring each child’s hero to life whether they wear a ballgown or a cape and can't wait to light up your child's day!

Ben

Ben is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier’s Community Music program. When he is not performing Ben pursues a master degree in education from Laurier. He has a passion for performing and loves bringing joy to future super heroes.

Cydney

Cydney is a trained mezzo-soprano, vocal coach, and advocate for inclusivity. She is currently studying Sciences & Public Policy and is an active performer in the KW area. With years of experience in vocal and instrumental performance, Cydney believes in the transformative power of the arts to inspire, educate, and uplift young minds. As a camp counselor, kids' entertainer, and lover of the stage, Cydney is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where every child can express themselves and be inspired to dream big and make a difference!

Eric

A family outing to the cinema ended in tragedy for young Eric Kenney. Walking homeward, Eric, his father, Thomas, and mother, Martha, accidentally ventured into Gotham City's notorious "Crime Alley" and were accosted by a mugger. Not content merely to rob the wealthy family, the hoodlum - whose identity was "never determined" - shot Dr. Thomas and Martha Wayne dead before fleeing into the darkness. As he knelt beside his parent's bodies, Eric swore to avenge them, and later serve as its protector using the symbol of a bat to strike fear into the hearts of criminal as "The Dark Knight".

Hannah

Hannah's love of working with children encourages her pursuit of a teaching career upon completing UW's Theatre & Performance Arts degree with a double minor in Music and French. Hannah’s passion for music and live performance is accentuated through continued study of both vocals and piano as well as performances in Musical Theatre, Kiwanis festivals and as a Soloist for weddings. Hannah has always been a princess at heart and is thrilled to be a part of your magical day.

Jett

Jett is an entertainer and always has been since he was little, he's been a competitive dancer for 13 years and has danced in a few commercials, he loves making people laugh and smile and when he's not doing that he's either biking or skateboarding with his friends. he's very creative and loves doing what he does. he's very excited to join the Storybook team.

Justin

Justin is so excited to join the Storybook Team. He has an acting background, and puts that to use as a mascot. He loves finding all the funny ways he can interact while wearing a giant foam head. Justin is proudly Indigenous, and when he's not mascotting you might find him skateboarding or listening to his favourite tunes.

Kalani

Kalani is a charismatic parkour athlete and coach. He incorporates this into his activities as a superhero and loves to teach some moves/tricks to adults and kids alike. When not dressed up as the wall crawler, he spends his time gaming, drumming and training. The triple backflip is coming soon I swear.

Kat

Kat currently works as a Paramedic for the Region of Waterloo, but she doesn’t stop there. She fills her spare time as a model and a model coach with The GEMINI Agency. She values working with the next generation, aiming to inspire them and find confidence in their own skin. While living in Ireland, Kat gained background acting experience while filming Game of Thrones. She hopes to dive deeper into acting with The Storybook Team and continue to inspire the next generation.

Katie

Katie studied theatre and voice at University of Waterloo and Sheridan College, and loves all things Broadway. She has performed in various musical theatre stage productions and enjoys training at the gym with all of the other superheroes. Katie loves the opportunity to play Warrior Woman and show little girls that true strength comes from dedication!

Kyle

Kyle is a professional musician and actor in the KW region and the GTA. A classically-trained coloratura soprano and harpist, Kyle has always been involved in the arts and in music in her community. She loves to work with children and inspire them to bring magic into their lives, so they feel that one day they can grow up to inspire others, too!

Liisa

Liisa has over 10 years of Marketing and Event Planning experience. During the pandemic, she opened her own business Liisa S. Photography & Design, specializing in a variety of services including photography, graphic design, marketing, and more. Liisa loves to craft, and enjoys creating DIY and budget-friendly event decor. She is proud to work with Storybook Events to help make dreams come true!

Lindsay

Lindsay has always been a storyteller, from a young age thru to her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Diploma in Broadcast Journalism. Whether through writing books, plays and human profile pieces, acting in local films and community theatre, or filming documentaries, she loves telling other peoples’ stories and capturing their essence and emotion for everyone to enjoy. She has two beautiful children of her own, Madelyn and Noah. You can now hire Lindsay to join your event as a videographer with Storybook!
